CNC Laser Setter/Operator

We are looking to recruit a CNC Laser setter/Operator to play a pivotal role within our business:

Responsibilities include:

Reading, understanding, and interpreting technical drawings/specification sheets.

Setting and Operating the Laser Machine and CNC Machinery (Amada)

Working with sheet metal in a manufacturing background with materials ranging from 1.2mm to 8.0mm thickness to produce a varied range of bespoke components.

Measuring and inspecting parts to technical drawings

Maintaining the Laser Machine

Identify and label parts ready for next production stage.

Complete all required job sheet paperwork.

Meeting production output and deadlines

Responsibility for quality, quantity and inspection of work produced.

Working in an efficient and timely manner

Reduce wastage by using raw materials and consumable items carefully.

Adherence to Health and Safety rules and regulations

Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping standards in own area.

Other duties as required by Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

Minimum of 1 year plus experience of setting and operating Laser cutter

Must have previous sheet metal work experience (mild & stainless)

Ability to read and understand technical drawing

Good level of Maths & English required to read/calculate technical drawings.

Amada press experience preferred but not essential.

Counterbalance FLT licence essential.

Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship.

Forward thinking, proactive and able to work using own initiative or as part of team.

Ability to work overtime when required for the needs of the business.

Strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills

Excellent attendance and timekeeping essential

Working Hours

  • Full time 38-hour week Monday – Friday day shift with lunchtime finish on Friday
